Good Fantasy-type books for a college-aged girl?

I recommend the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. Actually the oldest main character is 14 in the 1st book. But give them a chance, they're really good and NOT childish books. They're good for young adults/ adults too. Well, they're not strictly fantasy but elements of them are because the kids have wings! :)
